It will be our first Book Swap & Meet…possibly the first in the city, quite possibly the first in the country, but rather than define its precedence, we’d like to jump in, excited.
What it is, is a day to celebrate books, with people who love them just as much as us. The one ongoing activity of the day would be the BOOK SWAP a.k.a BOOK EXCHANGE.
Here’s how it will work.
Say you’ve read a few books in the past year or so that you really liked but wouldn’t want to necessarily read again or maybe your kid has outgrown her Enid Blytons….what now? As long as the books are in GREAT condition (i.e not torn, yellowed or marked), bring the books along and for every book that you bring to the swap, you can take back an equal number.
Through the course of the day, you’ll hear discussions with authors, there will be story telling for the kids and other exciting activities. And yes, if you or your kid/neice/nephew would like to recite, sing, read or perform, you’re more than welcome to take the mic. Infact, we’d love it if you’d like to share something with the rest of us. More the merrier!
